Emmerdale spoilers: A baby bombshell for Sarah
It’s been a turbulent start to the year for Sarah. After embarking on a romance with her longtime friend Jacob, the couple have been torn apart by the recent death of his mum Leyla.
Grief-stricken Jacob blames Sarah’s uncle Noah for what happened. The tragedy would never have occurred if Charity hadn’t had to swerve the limo to avoid hitting Noah, who was wandering in the middle of the road at night. Sarah has tried to help Jacob in the wake of his terrible loss, but he keeps pushing her away.
In the midst of all this, Sarah was shocked to discover she was pregnant. She took a test by herself on the day of Leyla’s funeral and it was positive. Sarah couldn’t bring herself to tell Jacob about the baby, but has shared her secret with gran Charity.

Sarah finds out she’s not pregnant
Charity offers Sarah support by accompanying her granddaughter to the surgery for a check-up.
Manpreet examines Sarah and suggests her taking another pregnancy test, just to be certain. Sarah is stunned when the result comes back negative and realises the previous one must have been wrong.
It is a devastating blow for Sarah, particularly as she was just getting excited about the idea of being a mum. Manpreet and Charity both feel Sarah’s confusion and pain as they watch her try to process it all.

Sadness and regret for Sarah in Emmerdale spoilers
The news of there being no baby has a deeper level of sadness for Sarah, who’s had battling health problems nearly all her life.
Sarah was only six when she was diagnosed with fanconi anemia, a rare blood disorder which causes bone marrow failure. The severity of the illness means Sarah has a much shorter life expectancy than most.
Well aware that she’s on borrowed time, Sarah tells Charity she may have missed her only chance of having a family. Will this crushing realisation send the fragile lass spiraling?
