Will died at Christmas (Picture: ITV)
Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was utterly devastated over the festive period when her dad Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) d.i.e.d suddenly in Emmerdale.
The character suffered severe chest pains and collapsed to the floor, just moments after Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) informed Kim Tate (Claire King) about Will’s scheme to take her down.
Kim smirked as Will dragged the Christmas tree down, believing he was suffering a panic attack – but the incident was far more serious.

As tonight’s episode of the ITV soap began, Dawn reminded Joe that the post m.o.r.t.e.m results would be out soon. Still convinced he had something to hide, Dawn wondered if Joe might suddenly disappear from the village before she got the news.

Dawn thought returning character Joe had something to do with her dad’s d.e.a.t.h (Picture: ITV)
Following a visit from Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) regarding tomorrow’s funeral, Dawn received a phone call. Afterwards, she confirmed to Kim that the post mortem revealed Will d.i.e.d of natural causes, meaning there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the d.e.a.t.h.
Joe approached moments later and asked Kim for some p.a.i.n.k.i.l.l.e.r.s. Interrupting the chat, Joe found out the update on Will and realised he was now ‘exonerated’.
Dawn profusely apologised to Joe. While the returning character isn’t keeping a secret regarding Will’s d.e.a.t.h, he is hiding something about his health, as viewers have watched him experience a great deal of pain in recent scenes, often relying on m.e.d.i.c.a.t.i.o.n to ease his symptoms.
At the end of the episode, Dawn was taking a look through the box of items Jimmy King (Nick Miles) dropped off for her.
They all belonged to Will and came from the haulage office. Inside the box, interestingly, was a USB.
Plugging in the device, Dawn was surprised to see a video of Will. To her horror, her dad said:
‘Dawn, love, I hope it’s you that’s watching and not someone else. But if you are, then that means I am d.e.a.d.’
‘And it also means that Kim did it.’
