Emmerdale Viewers LEFT SHOCKED As Joe UNEXPECTEDLY STEPS IN To SAVE Ruby And AVOID A LONG-AWAITED CONFESSION
Fans of Emmerdale have hit out against the ‘far-fetched’ resolution in last night’s episode (Wednesday, June 5) as Joe Tate emerged to save Ruby Miligan from her own confession.
Hearing that the police were investigating a body in the lake, Ruby panicked, assuming that it was that of her dad, Anthony. Fearing what this might mean for Caleb, Aaron and everyone else who helped cover up her crime, she decided to go ahead and confess.
This she did, in spite of Caleb’s best attempts to talk her out of it… even putting together a plan to flee the country instead.

Ruby made a murd3r confession in Emmerdale this week
As she sat down in the interview room, Ruby revealed how her dad had abused her as a teenager. She continued with her confession, even as Caleb’s solicitor arrived with a warning to plead no comment.
Ruby was determined to continue on her course of action though, and ploughed ahead with the assertion that she’d done her dad in.
In a shocking twist, Ruby’s saviour came from an unlikely corner – Joe Tate, who had forged proof of life for Anthony, supposedly alive and well in Spain.
Wanting to make amends to the Miligans after the whole kidney thing, he’d used a contact in Spain to forge Anthony’s passport, and got him to hand himself in to the police.
This put Ruby in the clear, but fans weren’t satisfied with the story’s quick resolution.

Emmerdale fans slam ‘far-fetched’ conclusion as Joe saves Ruby from confession
As these scenes aired, fans shared their thoughts on social media. And many were seriously unhappy at how Ruby’s confession had played out.
“What a load of far fetched nonsense,” wrote one fan on X.
“Speaking honestly tonight’s episode , all of it I mean, flabbergasted me in so many ways. In particular the cops swallowing the story about Anthony in Spain, seriously?!” said another, over on Reddit.
“The thing about the passport was so unreal, I bet criminals everywhere wish it worked that easy! Very poor writing,” said a third.
Has the soap made a hash of this one?
