We could finally get answers (Picture: ITV)
Last week, an exciting new Emmerdale trailer was released that teased what’s ahead in 2025 for some major villagers.
We saw Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) running through the woods prompting concern, someone else was dumping a body into a river, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was seen in hospital, and another Emmerdale character was trapped under an icy lake in a terrifying moment.
Also in the clip, we saw Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) looking tearful at a freshly dug grave. This left many fans of the ITV soap feeling incredibly worried.
After a difficult end to the year with Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) brain tumour operation, Cain is facing more turmoil in 2025 as a result of the death of a loved one.
And audience members think that person will be Cain’s son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

Nate apparently secured a new job in Shetland (Picture: ITV)
A few months ago, Nate left the village for a new job in Shetland. At first, Nate hoped to leave with Tracy (Amy Walsh) and their daughter Frankie, but a clash with her and Cain meant he left alone.
Due to the fact we never actually saw Nate leave, it has left many completely convinced he never made it to his new job. Add this to the fact Nate’s exit happened the same day as a barn fire, it has seriously sparked suspicion.
Taking to social media platform X, one audience member theorised: ‘Cain stood at a grave I’m saying Nate maybe?’.
Another echoed this thought and wrote: ‘Oh I so hope it’s Ruby’s Dad in that flaming bag or under the damn ice. But my guess is it’s Nate in the bag or in the graveyard.’
‘THEORY – John killed Aidan and Nate’, this person said, noting the ongoing mystery surrounding John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and his past.

A lot lies ahead for the Emmerdale residents (Picture: ITV)
‘The flash forwards will tease several storylines that will reveal a sneak peak of what’s to come across 2025’, producer Laura Shaw told us, discussing what’s ahead.‘As our villagers toast the New Year, a glimpse into each of their futures will be revealed.
‘As the fate of those depicted hangs in the balance, the only thing for certain is it’s going to be an explosive year in Emmerdale.
