Kelly Brook’s husband tells the Mirror how hard it has been for his wife to contend with scrutiny over her figure – as he revealed how he would be flying to see her on Monday

Jungle star Kelly Brook’s husband has hit back at the trolls who abused his wife over her curves. The I’m a Celebrity campmate was the subject of vicious comments about her figure before coming into the Jungle .
And Jeremy Parisi said that it was “hard” for women such as Kelly to be under the microscope when it came to their bodies. He said: “I’m so happy to see Kelly being so confident and happy in her own skin, it’s hard for women in the public eye to be put under such scrutiny but she is a positive role model for so many women which is something she should be proud of.”
Last week Kelly pleaded with viewers to accept her curves after being bombarded with hate after touching down at Brisbane Airport.
She said: “Obviously, I am not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore. You know, life changes and your body changes. And I just hope people are accepting of me and how I look now, and not comparing me to how I used to look.”

And this week, Kelly stripped off for the first time as she enjoyed a jungle shower in a patterned bikini – the first celebrity to do so. Praising his wife, he called her “gorgeous” and said he was upset at missing Kelly’s birthday today. But the blow will be softened by flying out to see her and meeting her on the famous jungle bridge.
He said: “This Sunday will be a hard one as it’s Kelly’s birthday and the first time we’ve not spent it together in 10 years. I’m flying out on Monday which will make it easier and we will make sure to do belated celebrations when we are reunited.”
Earlier this week he was also left upset after watching her break down in tears in the Bush Telegraph after she received a picture of him and Teddy, their dog.
Kelly will turn 47 in camp, but managed a small party before flying out with her Heart Radio colleagues. Her birthday is expected to be acknowledged in camp too. Speaking before she entered camp, Kelly said that she felt confident about her body, saying that she had “embraced” her curves.

“I feel really confident. I feel like my body is in good shape. I just feel great,” she says. “I am 46, I embrace my curves. I embrace my body. I ran a marathon this year….so I am proud of that.”Kelly has been forced to address comments over her figure for years.
She once said: “I’ve always been a curvy girl and I’m proud of that.” When trolls previously accused her of being “too big”, she replied: “I’m a healthy size 12. I’m not apologising for having boobs and a bum.”
She said she had “plenty of swimsuits” for the famous Jungle Shower, and had discussed it with Myleene Klass whose white bikini went down in I’m a Celebrity history, in 2006.
“Yes, Myleene did talk to me about the shower,” Kelly said previously. “She said that when she arrived she did not actually have a swimsuit that was appropriate for the television… so she actually had to run out and get something. I think it would be very difficult to try and recreate something like that. That was fate that was meant to be, and that was her moment”
