Recent Emmerdale scenes have seen Marlon and April at loggerheads and fans are divided over which team they’re on.

Since April Windsor was reunited with her family following her time on the streets, her and Marlon have failed to find a middle ground.

As they struggle to get their relationship back on track, fans can’t decide who is in the right.

Marlon and April at loggerheads in Emmerdale

Over Christmas, April decided to run away from home after learning the truth about her mother Donna’s death.

She was eventually reunited with her family, with a special episode airing depicting her journey living on the streets.

During the special episode, it was revealed that April had been pregnant, but sadly the baby was stillborn. She has not yet revealed who the father of the baby was.

April has struggled to readjust to being back at home and her behaviour has spiralled. In particular, she has found dad Marlon Dingle overbearing and controlling.

While on the streets, April made friends with homeless Dylan. Marlon immediately decided that Dylan was bad news and was determined to not let him back into April’s life.

When he visited April in the village, Marlon stole some ketamine from the veterinary surgery and planted it on Dylan. The plan worked and April was furious at Dylan for betraying her trust.

However, she recently discovered the truth, along with the fact that Marlon had also been hiding a letter to her from Dylan. To get revenge, April faked an overdose in order to worry her father. The latest escapade caused Rhona to flip and she demanded that April and Marlon sort out their issues.

Marlon did not heed this advice, and instead planted a tracking device in April’s coat.

Team April or Team Marlon?

Fans are on the fence over who is in the right.

“She really is getting on my nerves she has so many people who care so much about her. So many young kids end up living on the streets because they have no choice and nobody who cares about them. She really needs a reality check,” wrote one fan on Instagram about April.

“Getting fed up with April and her bad attitude,” said another fan, while a third fan joked: “God if I was Marlon I’d give April her bloody bus fare to Leeds!”

“I wouldn’t dream of speaking to my dad like that, even when I was her age,” added another fan. With a fifth fan writing: “Oh shut up April ‘he really looked after me in Leeds’. Your dad’s been looking after you for years, and what thanks does he get? Grow up.”

Other fans had more sympathy for April and feel that Marlon is being overbearing. One fan said: “Fed up of Marlon now. He’s like April’s very own stalker. She wants to be left alone yet he turns up 2 minutes later!”

“Sorry Marlon but you messed up big time. She needs guidance, she needs parental guidance,” wrote another fan. 

With a further fan questioning why Marlon paid for Dylan to go to rehab, but hasn’t tried to help his daughter more. They wrote: “I don’t get it, she’s been through a great trauma yet no mention of any counselling sessions. Marlon paid for that lads rehab surely he can go private for April as well. His been overbearing trying to be a friend.”
