THE Philadelphia Eagles have gotten stunning news regarding the possibility of receiving Pittsburgh Steelers star pass rusher TJ Watt in a trade.

The seven-time NFL Pro Bowler Watt is in the final year of his $112 million contract and has been at the center of trade rumors after posting a cryptic social media post last week.

The post has been deemed as a message that contract negotiations with the Steelers haven’t been going well.

Last Friday, USA Today’s Steelers Wire shared the belief that the Eagles could be a possible destination for Watt if he were to be traded.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles were among the five landing spots for the former Defensive Player of the Year.

The Eagles have a young, unproven edge rush duo and could see Watt as a potential rental for another Super Bowl run,” Steelers Wire’s Andrew Vasquez wrote.

“Could Philadelphia offer a king’s ransom for a potential two-peat, spearheaded by Watt’s presence on defense?”

The Green Bay Packers, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers were the other four potential landing spots for Watt.

The rumors come as Steelers beat reporter Mark Kaboly stated to keep an eye on the situation concerning Watt, who will be 31 years old this year.

Still, Kaboly expects “an extension is still going to eventually get done.”

Nonetheless, the Eagles have the third-highest betting odds (+500) to receive the All-Pro pass rusher’s services if he were to be moved, per BetOnline.

The New England Patriots (+300) and Seattle Seahawks (+400) were the only teams who got better odds than Philly.

The Eagles have a need at pass rusher after losing Josh Sweat in free agency and veteran Brandon Graham contemplating retirement.

It would be hard not to be interested in joining a Philadephia defense that just sacked Patrick Mahomes six times to claim the Super Bowl 59 victory in February.

But the Eagles would have to give up a huge package and hand out a massive contract extension to the future Hall of Fame defender Watt.

Philadelphia does have 20 draft picks over the next two years and will try to maximize their current Super Bowl window any way possible.

However, the Steelers haven’t expressed any interest in trading Watt.

The Steelers are in win-now mode as they are coming off a 10-7 season, traded for wide receiver DK Metcalf in the offseason, and are linked with the four-time NFL MVP free agent Aaron Rodgers.

The Eagles will likely address their pass rusher need in the upcoming NFL Draft, which takes place from April 24-26.
