Despite his uncertainty, the Chiefs are reportedly open to having Kelce back for one more season.
According to Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Kelce could return to the Chiefs, but not in the same role that fans are used to seeing.
The Chiefs want Kelce back, but they won’t allow him to be the focal point of the offense anymore.
Throughout the regular season and the playoffs, it was clear that Kelce has lost a step from his prime.
He caught more passes than last year, but notched career lows in yards and touchdowns.
At only 823 yards and three touchdowns, it’s clear Kelce isn’t the same player anymore.
Also, the Eagles held Kelce to just four catches and 39 yards in the Super Bowl.
Kelce has spoken about his retirement decision, making it known that he needs time to figure things out.
“I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,” he said.
“And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.

“I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”
Kelce has plenty of career options ahead of him if he does choose to retire.
He has his successful New Heights podcast with his brother Jason that would surely continue.
Kelce is also breaking into Hollywood, recently debuting on the TV show Grotesquerie.
He also has featured in multiple commercials for the 2024 movie My Dead Friend Zoe, which he helped produce.
