Their empty seats were filled by anchors Sam Champion, 62, Whit Johnson, 41, Janai Norman, and Gio Benitez, 38.

Viewers were not given an explanation as to why the news anchors headed into the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend early.

Meanwhile, Michael has been missing from the morning show for five days in a row now.

Rebecca Jarvis, 42, filled in for the former footballer on Thursday.

Yesterday, she sat next to Robin and George at the desk, who have also been in most of the week.

Michael has not shared any insight as to why he is absent, but he has been active on social media during his time off.

His return date is not yet known.

FUN ON SET

In the meantime, George took to Instagram and shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot with Robin and Black Panther actress Angela Basset, 65.

The trio shared a few laughs together as they posed for the camera.

Also on Thursday, The Waiting to Exhale star visited the set to promote her show, 9-1-1.

Robin also took to social media and shared behind-the-scenes snaps with Sam.

In her Instagram Stories, the two burst out laughing after failing to keep a serious face.

“True friend is one you can share a range of emotions, like from this to this in the same conversation.”

‘I’LL BE BACK’

Fans celebrated the return of anchor Ginger Zee, 43, who took a break from the program.

During her hiatus, Ginger kept busy creating content to honor Earth Month, which takes place in April.

This past Wednesday, the meteorologist took to social media and shared a photo of what appeared to be a sunny dryland.

Above the dryland, the blue sky was filled with white fluffy clouds.

“I’ll be back on @goodmorningamerica Thursday morning – but I really can’t wait to share all these stories with you for Earth Month,” the TV star announced.

Fans took to the comments section and shared their excitement as they could not wait for her to come back to the show.

“Ginger Zee we miss you I can’t wait to see what you have for Earth Day please be safe my friend,” one fan wrote.

“Yay, I miss seeing you,” another fan confessed.

“Can’t wait to see all the information you will have for us! And will be excited to see you back!” a third fan cheered.

“We miss you,” a fourth person shared:
