HEARTBREAK: Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle Exit ‘SEALED’ In Cruel Twist

There appeared to be a shooting on Emmerdale in the latest episode

Emmerdale devotees are speculating that Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, might be on the brink of a heart-wrenching departure. Cain has been a mainstay in the soap for a quarter of a century, having first appeared in 2000. Over the years, his character as the village’s mischievous womaniser has won him a loyal fan base.

He’s also been at the centre of numerous major plotlines. From his love affair with cousin Charity Dingle, portrayed by Emma Atkins, to his illicit liaison and subsequent relationship with Moira, played by Natalie J. Robb, his stint in the Dales has been anything but dull. Particularly recently, when Cain discovered that his son Nate Robinson, played by Jurell Carter, was k!lled by John Sugden, portrayed by Oliver Farnworth. As viewers will remember, John murd3red Nate last year and disposed of his body in a lake.

Eventually, Nate’s body was discovered and John managed to frame an innocent person. However, this month saw John’s world come crashing down as his crimes were revealed.

With everyone seeking revenge, John has coerced Caleb Miligan, played by William Ash, into aiding his escape. If he refused, John threatened to inform the police about his wife Ruby, portrayed by Beth Cordingly, murd3ring Anthony Fox, played by Nicholas Day.

In Tuesday’s episode (23 September), Caleb drove John out of the village. However, when he halted in the middle of the woods, it quickly became apparent that Cain was part of the plan and was equipped with a shotgun.

A dramatic confrontation ensued as Cain vented his fury on John for murd3ring his son. However, John later revealed that if Cain were to k!ll him, an email detailing Anthony’s murd3r would automatically be sent to the police.

Both Cain and Caleb were taken aback, and John then tried to assault Cain with a rock. But Cain managed to catch him and pointed the shotgun at him, with the episode concluding with the sound of the gun firing.

Now, viewers are speculating that Cain might end up k!lling John Sugden, potentially leading to the character’s departure from the show. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “Let’s hope Cain pulled the trigger on John!”

Another fan wrote: “I don’t want that to happen because then Cain will be sent to prison!” A third agreed: “That’s true actually.” Another chimed in: “I thought that too. Or they would have to cover up another murd3r again.” A fifth speculated: “Maybe he gets sent to prison for a while?”
