HEARTBREAKING: A Place in the Sun star Jasmine Harman has OPENED UP about the “STRAIN” in her relationship after her move to Spain

The 49-year-old presenter appeared on ITV’s Loose Women on Tuesday (October 14), where she spoke to Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter, and Katie Piper about her new Channel 4 show.

Jasmine’s Renovation in the Sun is set to air next month, and follows the star and her family as they move to Southern Spain to buy and renovate a run-down 1980s villa.

On Loose Women, Jasmine opened up about the “challenges” she faced during the renovation, particularly in her relationship with husband Jon Boast.

“You would not believe the amount of strain my husband gave me during the renovation and filming process,” she revealed.

“We moved to Spain and never had the intention of doing a renovation project. It ended up being like a real-life episode of A Place in the Sun because we couldn’t agree on any of the properties we saw.

“In the end, we saw this place and sort of looked at each other like, ‘Are we actually going to do this?’ And we knew that it was a means to an end, a stepping stone to a life that we wanted.”

Jasmine continued: “We were super lucky. We had such fantastic teams of people doing different trades and everything kind of fell into place. That’s not to say that we didn’t have our fair share of ups and downs.

“Pretty much everything that you could think of going wrong went wrong, plus a few extra dramatic things that happened, just to add to the rollercoaster. That is renovating a house overseas.”

The presenter went on to explain that the process of renovating the Spanish home was “much harder” than she thought it was going to be.

“I moved abroad thinking, ‘I’ve helped people do this for 20 years,’ and I went into it thinking it was going to be a breeze. Just even settling in, it was much harder than I thought it was going to be,” she said.

“I think taking on a full renovation is not for the faint hearted, but in another country, it’s even more challenging.”

Jasmine was first selected to co-present A Place in the Sun back in 2004, and has since filmed more than 200 episodes worldwide, recording more instalments than any other presenter of the show.

She’s also fronted BBC One documentary, My Hoarder Mum and Me, as well as Britain’s Biggest Hoarders, Britain’s Compulsive Shoppers, The Truth About Your Teeth and Collectaholics.
