HEARTBREAKING: Emmerdale star’s son rushed to HOSPITAL after ‘Scary Incident’

Gemma Atkinson revealed her son Thiago was rushed to A&E on Saturday night, with the youngster receiving treatment into the early hours. The former Emmerdale actor shares toddler Thiago, two and daughter Mia, six, with Strictly dancer and fiancé Gorka Marquez. On Wednesday, she delivered a vital health update to fans on social media.

Gemma wrote: “We had such a busy weekend with a big build-up and lots of organising. A family birthday tea for Mia on Friday, her party for her school friends on Saturday, both Mia and Thiago’s christening on Sunday, and on top of that, a trip to A&E with Thiago Saturday night. We were there until 1 a.m. Sunday morning and still somehow rocked up to church at 9.30 a.m. We were exhausted, but we had the best day.”

The soap star did not detail exactly what happened to her son, but reassured fans that he was recovering.

She added: “He’s absolutely fine! But it was a scary few hours and I wanted to say a massive thank you to Bolton hospital children’s A&E department, and also the lovely paramedics who took us up there. God bless our NHS!”

On Monday, she continued her routine, having an “ice bath” before the nursery run and then hitting the gym to maintain her toned physique.

Her post, which has been liked over 5,000 times, was soon flooded with messages of support. One person said, “What a full-on weekend! I’m so glad to hear Thiago is okay.” A second added, “Glad to hear Thiago is okay. There’s nothing worse than when the kids get really unwell.”

“Glad Tiago is ok,” commented a third. “Such a busy weekend! So glad Tiago is ok and you all enjoyed your family celebrations,” said a fourth. The news comes after Gemma and Gorka’s reality show, “Life Behind The Lens,” was cancelled after just two seasons.

The pair shared an ultra-romantic proposal on Valentine’s Day in 2021, but doting parents are yet to tie the knot. Gorka recently gave an update that they had plans to get married following their engagement, but life kept getting in the way.

Gorka told Hello magazine: “It will be nice, but we wanted to get married before, but then we had Mia. Then COVID happened. Then after COVID we got pregnant with Thiago. [Gemma] was like: ‘I’m not going to have a wedding pregnant after the pregnancy she’s like I need to get in shape. I don’t want to go after the baby.

“And also Thiago now still not independent so we say when they are old enough they both can walk and be independent. Imagine being on your wedding and he’s crying and just wants mummy.”
