HEARTBREAKING: Good Morning Britain Host Marverine Cole HALTS Broadcast Due to Sudden TRAGIC WARNING
Good Morning Britain was halted for a tragic breaking news alert as Marverine Cole shared details of a sh00ting in Australia. Marverine was in the ITV studio to deliver the rest of the day’s news, alongside main presenters Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins. “I’m bringing you some breaking news now. Two police officers are reported to have been k!lled in a sh00ting in Australia, according to broadcasters there,” Marverine said.
She added that the sh00ter is still on the run in Victoria. Marverine issued an update later in the programme, telling viewers: “Police in Australia are responding to an active sh00ter in Australia. Two officers have been k!lled and another injured. Dog squads, armoured vehicles and tactical teams have been deployed. Schools and all public facilities have been locked down.”
But furious GMB viewers said the same thing about the coverage – noting that the main programme hadn’t yet mentioned the st@bbing and aɾɾests that happened at Notting Hill Carnival in London over the weekend.
One fumed: “Not reporting on the 400 aɾɾests and multiple st@bbing at a festival in London but reporting on a sh00ting on the other side of the world? Strange that.”
A second echoed: “Wonder why Marverine isn’t reporting aɾɾests at London carnival? @gmb only tell us news they want us to hear like water shortage in Scotland. How many people there watch #gmb?”
A third posted: “What happened at notting Hill Carnival 2025 over the weekend? I’m not interested to hear from an idiot that’s done more damage to this country than anyone.”
Another added: “Nothing about over 400 aɾɾest at London carnival @gmb? #gmb.”
423 people were aɾɾested at Notting Carnival over the weekend, including 46 for carrying and offensive weapon. Two people were also st@bbed, but police confirmed the st@bbings, which occurred at Powis Terrace and in Oxford Gardens, did not result in life-threatening injuries.
More aɾɾests were made on Monday, with a total of 223 by 7.45pm. 177 were made at Carnival itself and 46 on the approaches to the event. It included 32 aɾɾests for assaults on police, 46 for possession of an offensive weapon, 18 for sexual offences, and 146 in relation to drugs. There were also five aɾɾests in relation to robbery, four for violence with injury, and 36 for ‘other’ violence.
The Metropolitan Police said that it has seen “far fewer incidents of serious violence than in recent years”, but acknowledged the event is still in its latter stages and it is “not being at all complacent”.
