HEARTBREAKING REVELATION: BBC Breakfast’s Jon Kay SHARES Difficult Family Update

BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay shared a rare family update during Tuesday’s (2 September) episode of the BBC show, as he revealed a “big change” in his household.
The host was back on TV screens with Sally Nugent on Tuesday. The duo was joined by several guests as they shared all of the latest news and headlines with TV viewers.
On Tuesday’s BBC Breakfast, parenting expert and clinical psychologist Dr Martha Deiros Collado was among the guests.
Dr Martha was on hand to give parents the best tips for helping their children prepare to return to school after the lengthy summer holidays.
Her appearance on BBC Breakfast came after it was revealed that many children head to school without being able to perform basic tasks, such as fastening their shoes or putting on a coat properly.

Dr Martha provided useful advice on getting kids prepared for school, helping to settle nerves, and tackling any upset that occurs at the school gates.
As the interview concluded, Jon considered the experience of parents without children heading to school this September.
He revealed himself to be one of those parents, saying that for the first time in two decades, he isn’t getting ready to send any of his kids off to school.
“I’m just thinking, in our house, it’s the first time in 20-something years that we’ve not had anyone going to school,” Jon said to Sally and Martha.
His co-host, Sally, exclaimed, “Oh, don’t! That also is difficult.”
“What about that, Dr Martha, that’s a big change?” Jon said, prompting Dr Martha to ask: “That’s a massive change! Are you okay?”
Dad-of-three Jon said: “I’m alright at the moment,” and jokingly added: “But, I don’t know who is going to help me put my coat on!”
Jon shares two sons and a daughter with his wife, Francesca Kasteliz. He and Francesca, a TV coach, married in 1998 after meeting in the newsroom at BBC Radio Bristol.
Jon tends to keep his family out of the spotlight but occasionally mentions his kids on BBC Breakfast.
Meanwhile, co-host Sally is mum to a 17-year-old son, who she shares with ex-husband Gavin Hawthorn. The former couple parted ways in 2023 after 13 years of marriage.
