HEARTBREAKING: Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan PAY TRIBUTE to Loose Women Friend Amid ITV’s Brutal Cuts
Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Nadia Sawalha have paid heartfelt tributes to their beloved Loose Women colleague as they announced his ‘terrifying’ exit from the show amid sweeping ITV cuts.
Long-serving producer Jordan Rowley, who has worked on the daytime favourite for four years, revealed he had been axed as part of the broadcaster’s shake-up – and admitted the decision to move on was both ‘terrifying and exciting’.
The popular producer took to Instagram to share a string of photos alongside the Loose Women panellists, including Ruth, as he reflected on his time at ITV.
In a moving caption, he wrote: ‘And just like that, my final day at ITV Daytime has arrived.
‘In my late twenties, I made the daunting decision to try my hand at an industry I’d always dreamt of working in and was lucky enough to secure the position of a runner on Loose Women.
‘Four years later I’ve worked across two of the countries most iconic television programmes and have gone from making teas and coffees to producing my very own shows, something my younger self could only have dreamt of.
‘I can’t begin to explain how amazing the last four years have been. I’ve been so lucky to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, both on and off screen and have genuinely made friends for life.
‘This next chapter is both terrifying and exciting but one that would never have been a possibility if it wasn’t for ITV and the wonderful people that I’ve worked with there.
‘So, in the words of our Queen Adele – I’ll never learn if I never leap… and I’m off to leap x’.
His announcement sparked an outpouring of love from the Loose Women team.
Coleen Nolan, 60, commented: ‘Going to really Miss you! Go now and fly. You deserve it.’
Nadia Sawalha, 60, added: ‘We will miss you so much ! Don’t be a stranger! Drinkiepoos soon!’
Ruth Langsford, 64, went one step further, resharing a photo Jordan had posted of the pair together to her Instagram stories.
The TV favourite wrote: ‘If you love somebody, set them free! Goodbye and good luck to my lovely friend. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you…… now go fly!’
It follows the news that Loose Women is the latest show to be pulled from screens amid widespread cuts at ITV.
The popular talk show will not air on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week and will instead be replaced by a repeat of James Martin’s Great British Adventure from 2019 at 12:30pm on Wednesday.
The cut comes after it was announced that the show would no longer be running for 52 weeks of the year and instead be on screen for just 30 in a bid to cut costs.
Changing viewing habits, including an increased reliance on streaming services, have forced ITV to make some difficult decisions in a bid to remain profitable and keep some of the UK’s most beloved shows on air.
Other shows that have been affected by cuts at the broadcaster include Good Morning Britain and Lorraine.
Good Morning Britain will now run for an extra half an hour to reduce Lorraine’s slot from one hour to 30 minutes.
Like Loose Women, Lorraine will now air for just 30 weeks a year, and when it is not on, it will be replaced by an even longer edition of Good Morning Britain, which will run from 6am to 10am.
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, stressed that ‘daytime is a really important part of what we do.’
