Southend Airport plane crash UPDATES: Four people dead after aircraft exploded - Mirror Online

Sky News has issued a tragic update on the plane crɑsh in Southend Airport.  A small twin-engine Beechcrɑft King Air B200 – which specialises in medical transportation – erupted into a fireball at around 4pm on Sunday, July 13, with Essex Police warning people to stay away from the area.

The broadcaster halted programming to bring viewers the latest on the horror smash. “Some breaking news to bring you on that plane crɑsh at Southend Airport. PA news agency understands that four people have been killed in that plane crɑsh. PA  understands that four people were on board that plane. You will recall that it crɑshed just a few seconds after takeoff. It is a small plane… Until now, we haven’t had any clarification from the airport itself or anyone linked to that plane. Our correspondent, Rachel Venables, is at Southend Airport today, following that story, and we are expecting a press conference from Essex Police later this afternoon. So, when we get more information on that we will bring that to you here on Sky News. So reports now that four people have been killed in that plane crɑsh,” the presenter said.

Police are yet to confirm any casualties. The force, which will be holding a press conference at 3pm on Monday July 14 hosted by Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin and London Southend Airport chief executive Jude Winstanley.

Essex Police previously said all emergency services attended the scene of the incident involving one plane at about 4pm, shortly after the aircrɑft had taken off.

Reports claim flight tracking data suggests the plane that crɑshed was a Beech B200 Super King Air bound for Lelystad, in the Netherlands, though this hasn’t been confirmed by police.

In their latest update they said: “Our officers are working with all emergency services for a second day at Southend Airport.

“We are sure everyone understands this will be an incredibly complex and sensitive situation, so please bear with us while we carry out this investigation.

“You can still share any information with us through our Major Incident Public Portal, or by calling our dedicated phone lines”, they added.

Zeusch Aviation, the operator of the aircrɑft, said in a statement: “We can confirm that Zeusch Aviation flight SUZ1 was involved in an accident today at London Southend Airport.

“We are actively supporting the authorities with the investigation and will provide updates on this page as more information becomes available. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.”
