HEARTBROKEN: Eamonn Holmes has shared a STATEMENT following the Tragic L0SS of John Stapleton

Eamonn Holmes has shared a heartbreaking statement after the D::eath of broadcaster John Stapleton. The GB News host shared a post after the news of his D::eath following his battle with Parkinsons was announced on Sunday (September 22).
Reminding people that the legendary broadcaster had appeared on GB News the month prior, Eamonn wrote: “This was just over a month ago with me on GB News. How fragile life is. No way did he seem near to the end. Goodbye my old friend, one of the best.”
The interview was about John living a “near-normal life” despite his Parkinson’s battle, which he had announced in October 2024.
At the time, he told Eamonn: “It’ll only get worse, but thinking positive about it, lots of people live only a normal life with Parkinson’s, so I’m aiming to do the same.”
Eamonn and John had a long career together having worked on GMTV at the same time. Eamonn also made it clear in his tribute that the TV legend had been a friend to him.
Fans of John reflected on his GB News interview, telling Eamonn on the post: “Watched that interview, so great to have him back on our screens. So awfully sad, sending condolences to his family and friends.”
Another wrote: “Watched that interview with fond memories. So sad, he was a gentleman.”
A third said: “I watched it, was so lovely John talking to you and Penny about old times. So sad, a lovely man.”

The news of John’s passing was announced at the weekend after his Parkinson’s disease was further complicated by pneumonia.
His agent Jackie Gill said: “John had Parkinson’s disease which was complicated by pneumonia. His son Nick and daughter-in-law Lisa have been constantly at his side and John d!ed peacefully in hospital this morning.”
Stapleton was best known for appearing on Newsnight, Panorama and GMTV’s News Hour. He was also one of Sky News’ original presenters.
