Strictly star Alex Kingston has been flooded with well-wishes from fans after her daughter pointed out online that she was performing with an injury and said she was ‘so proud’

Another Strictly Come Dancing star has suffered an injury during the 2025 series, as Alex Kingston’s place in the show has been threatened due to a rib injury. Alex, who is paired with professional Johannes Radebe, performed a Couple’s Choice routine on Saturday and her daughter pointed out online that she was performing with an injury, and said she was ‘so proud’ of her mum.
A short clip of their choreography, which scooped 35 points from the judges, was uploaded to Strictly’s Instagram page before her daughter Salome Violetta Haertel wrote: “So so proud!!! Slayed the dance floor, dislocated rib and all!!!”

Fans rushed to send their well-wishes to Alex, who has placed second-to-last on the Strictly leaderboard. One fan wrote: “Your mum is a superstar (you already knew that) – please send her my love and healing thoughts. Really hope it doesn’t hamper her from continuing – she has my votes every week!”
A second penned: “Sending your mum all our love. What an amazing woman, powering through the pain like that! We love our Queenston!”, while a third said: “She did amazingly with an injury! Hope she recovers enough to continue.”
Alex became the third person to suffer with an injury as it was announced that Strictly star La Voix would be quitting the series after an incident, and Neighbours star Stefan Dennis was forced to quit after suffering a calf tear.

Opening the show in Blackpool yesterday, host Tess Daly said: “As you may have heard, La Voix sustained an injury meaning she can’t dance in Blackpool and following medical advice from our team, we can now confirm that she has had to withdraw from the competition.”
Co-host, Claudia Winkleman added: “We will be speaking to La Voix on tomorrow night’s show, we love you so, so much.” It’s also been confirmed that there will be no dance-off this weekend, no celebrity will be sent home and that the votes from tonight will be carried over to next week.

Taking to Instagram, La Voix said: “I’m absolutely devastated to be withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing. This isn’t the glittering exit I ever imagined, and it breaks my heart to feel like I’m letting people down. My spirit wanted to keep dancing, but my foot has other ideas! Thank you for every cheer, every vote, and every sparkle of support – it’s meant the world to me. This isn’t the ending I imagined, but I’ll cherish this forever.”
This season has been filled with celeb injuries as, before the show even began, Dani Dyer had to pull out after suffering an nkle injury in training.
It comes as four Strictly finalists will reunite on the iconic Blackpool dance floor tonight as part of a special reunion performance.
Ashley Roberts, Danny Mac, Jay McGuiness and Layton Williams will step back into the legendary Blackpool Tower Ballroom to dance with some of the BBC series’ professionals in what viewers are promised will be a “dazzling performance”.
