A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman paid a heartfelt tribute to her dear friend on Tuesday
A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman has paid an emotional tribute to her co-star after their death.
Channel 4 fans were devastated when beloved star Jonnie Irwin passed away last year after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Jasmine, who joined the show in 2004 alongside Jonnie, shared her devastation shortly after her friend’s death.
“Jonnie, you’ve taught me so much in our time as work colleagues and as good friends. I have never admired you more than over the last few years as you’ve faced life with cancer with positivity, determination and bloody mindedness,” she said in a statement.
“I’ve never known anyone as strong as you. You have done yourself, your loved ones and all of us proud.”
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (November 18), Jasmine paid another heartfelt tribute to her friend on what would have been his 52nd birthday.

“Happy heavenly birthday dearest Jonnie,” the caption began, alongside a smiling picture of the pair.
“We miss you so much, but especially this weekend when I was celebrating my 50th. You were there at my 30th birthday, and my 40th – always the life and soul of the party. I never thought the day would come when I would catch up with you in age. The last time we saw each other was your 50th birthday!”
Jasmine concluded: “This pic was taken 20 years ago! I will always treasure the memories of the fun times we had. Sending so much love to your lovely family.”
Fans quickly took to the comments section to share their well wishes, with one person writing: “Lovely photo. Happy heavenly Birthday Jonnie.”

Another added: “Such a lovely man and will always be missed. Happy heavenly birthday Jonnie,” while a third said: “Such a lovely photo of you and Jonnie. So kind of you to mention him on your renovation project. I felt a lump in my throat.”
A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Some people are so special in our lives. I love how you honoured him on your renovation journey and again today.”
This comes after Jasmine shared an update with her followers following news of her husband Jon’s unexpected heart attack, which occurred during filming for their Channel 4 renovation series.
The star has since thanked fans for their supportive messages and celebrated her husband, adding: “I know I’m not the most patient nurse, but maybe that helped you recover more quickly!”
