It has not been easy for viewers since Hoda Kotb announced her exit from The Today Show at the end of 2024. She has such a spunky and fun personality that a show without her seemed to be missing a big puzzle piece. Moreover, she sat next to Jenna Bush Hager, beginning in 2019 after Kathie Lee Gifford’s departure. Once Hoda made her official move in early 2025, Jenna took over and has had rotating guest hosts sit beside her. This has been a good and bad thing as some mesh very well with her. Yet, it will never be the same as when Hoda was by her.

One thing Hoda wanted to focus on was her two daughters, Hope and Haley. She became a mother later in life and knew it was time to devote more time to this life. Now, the sixty-year-old has announced she welcomed a brand new baby to her family. Hoda shared a clip of her and her two daughters outside as a puppy was handed over to them. She was beaming with tears of joy as she was handed the pup, while her girls could not stop smiling. Hoda was dressed casually in workout gear and a ponytail while Haley and Hope donned bathing suits.

They named the baby Waffles, while Hoda Kotb gave a formal introduction in her caption. Her followers were elated to see the clip and loved watching her girls’ excitement. They had previously had a pooch named Blake, and some wondered what happened. However, Waffles seems to fit right in as part of the brood who are living their best lives.
