A dramatic twist is set to hit Home and Away next week as an intense baby storyline begins to take shape — but not without a major dose of danger first.
In upcoming scenes, Ziggy Astoni and Mackenzie Booth find themselves in serious trouble when they are abducted by two escaped prisoners. The shocking incident unfolds while Mackenzie and Levi are visiting Ziggy and Dean in Queensland, turning what should have been a relaxing visit into a nightmare.
Amid the chaos, the high-stakes situation triggers a wave of unexpected emotions — particularly for one character, who starts to feel a powerful urge for motherhood. The terrifying ordeal seems to awaken something deeper, leading to a surprising moment of self-reflection that could spark big changes in their life moving forward.
As the storyline unravels, fans can expect an emotional blend of trauma, bonding, and a sudden desire for a future that no one saw coming. Could this be the beginning of a new family chapter for one of Summer Bay’s most beloved residents?
During the kidnapping, Mackenzie learns that Ziggy is actually pregnant.
In the aftermath, Mackenzie and Levi return home but it’s clear Mackenzie has not been herself since the ordeal. Levi shows concern but Mackenzie asks that they both just try and forget what happened.

Later, Levi asks Tane Parata to see if Mackenzie will open up to him instead, as he believes there is more to her behaviour than meets the eye.
He thinks that perhaps something happened between Ziggy and Mackenzie while they were alone with the prisoners, but there’s nothing sinister she hasn’t told Levi.

Finding out Ziggy is pregnant again made Mackenzie realise she is desperate to have a baby, but she isn’t sure how Levi is going to feel about it.
Speaking about the storyline, an insider told Digital Spy: “Mac’s certainly feeling broody after her trip to Queensland. She loves being a fun aunty around Dean and Ziggy’s daughter Izzy – and now there’s another baby on the way for the couple.
“Her near-death experience with the escaped prisoners is also a timely reminder that life’s too short. Mac’s keen to get on with settling down with Levi, especially now that his divorce from his wife Imogen has been finalised. But do they want the same things?”
