LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Smoke advisories for the Los Angeles area will remain in place until next week as firefighters continue to battle the Palisades, Hurst and Eaton fires.
“Please wear N-95 masks outdoors. Fine particulates are airborne even in areas not impacted by the fires,” L.A. County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath announced during an update on Monday morning.
Children, older adults and those with serious health conditions remain at-risk as particles from wildfire smoke linger.

In the meantime, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will provide N-95 masks at all evacuation shelters and offer them to community-based organizations.
For those at home, keep all windows and doors closed. If you have an air conditioner or air purifier, you are advised to run those as well. Use this time to check your air filters and change them as needed.
“In your car, close the windows and vents. Turn your air conditioning on to recirculate,” Horvath continued.
Do not use leaf blowers “or other actions that will push ash into the air,” she advised as smokey air remains prevalent in specific areas.
While the advisories remain in place, the South Coast Air Quality Management District showed levels between the Good and Moderate levels as of Monday morning. Tap here for a map of current air quality conditions.
As of Monday, the Palisades Fire has burned over 23,600 acres in the Pacific Palisades, Malibu and areas of the Santa Monica Mountains. The Eaton Fire torched over 14,000 acres in Altadena and Pasadena.
