Kamala Harris and her husband Douglas Emhoff were seated in a pew next to President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, but an internet user claimed the two women wouldn’t look at each other

Kamala Harris and her spouse, Douglas Emhoff, allegedly played musical chairs at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral to steer clear of President-elect Donald Trump, sparking yet another uncomfortable situation.
Carter, who passed away at the age of 100 in December, was honored in a funeral that saw global dignitaries gather to pay their respects. Notably, Michelle Obama’s absence became a hot topic online, especially following her recent biting remarks about Melania Trump.
During the ceremony, Harris, bested by Trump in the 2024 election, sat beside her husband Emhoff. They found themselves next to President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
But an internet sleuth shared a video on X, alleging Harris shunned any interaction with Jill. The same source also spotted Barack Obama engaging earnestly with President-elect Trump.
A tweet from @VillageWest14 commented on the scene: “Obama and Trump look more interested in talking to each other than any of the couples. Doug and Kamala switched seats when she saw Trump and now she and Jill won’t look at each other. Where Michelle? At least 5 people in frame whose legacies were vanquished by Trump.”, reports the Irish Star.
At an earlier encounter post-election, after Harris took Biden’s place as the Democratic nominee for 2024, a body language analyst remarked to the Irish Star: “Sitting up on the balcony though we have Kamala sandwiched between two ‘presidential’ spouses and the air of permafrost from Jill looks evident.”
“Kamala looks determined to retain an air of almost smug cheeriness, waving as though she won the election. Her cheeks are raised and rounded and her lips pursed in a smile of pure glee.”
President-elect Donald Trump and future First Lady Melania Trump were spotted making their entrance at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral on Thursday.

Trump has shifted his stance on Carter since his passing despite their historically fraught public dynamic, stating his intention to attend the memorial service before the event.
In an infrequent unified showing, Melania accompanied her spouse to honor the late president. The ex-fashion model donned a lengthy black pea coat, distinguished by an oversized white collar that stood out in the assembly.
Social media lit up with a clip of the Trumps arriving at the funeral and taking their seats, with observers on X voicing their opinions about Melania’s ostentatious choice of attire. A user commented: “Wtf is she wearing? Was she going for the nun look.”
Her accessory seemed at odds with the more subdued, appropriately somber ensembles of other attendees.
