Mason Radcliffe joined the soap over a year ago as bully Luca Toolan but things soon took a turn when he came back from prison as a reformed character and tried to turn his life around

Mason Radcliffe was a hated character when he joined Coronation Street over a year ago.

The evil bully – played by Luca Toolan – had been targeting young Liam Connor. Mason had managed to convince Dylan to join his ‘side’ and they both targeted Maria’s son Liam, which tragically left Liam struggling with his mental health.

However, Liam bravely told of what Mason had done to him, and Mason was reprimanded by a judge. When he came back to the Cobbles, he received the cold shoulder from all of the street – but eventually, Tim took him under his wing.

His brothers though weren’t far behind, and Matty and Logan arrived on the Cobbles determined to bring their brother down. Things only got worse when Mason revealed his brothers were behind the murder of DS Swain’s partner Becky.

Mason ended up searching their flat and found the WWII helmet which was listed in Becky’s case file and handed it into the police station, sealing their fate. However, in tragic scenes, the brothers will come looking for Mason for their revenge.

It has already been confirmed that an altercation will escalate in the precinct, with Dylan managing to escape. Abi arrives at the scene to find Mason severely bleeding, as she tries to stop the flow. The paramedics rushed in to try and save him – but will they?

Those who have already watched the ITVX episode today will know Mason’s fate, but The Mirror has chosen not to reveal it ahead of the show being on television as to not spoil it for those who watch in the evenings.

With the alarming statistics, we want to do anything we can as a show to combat this violent endemic. After watching this harrowing, but important story unfold, if one person thinks twice about bringing a knife to a fight, then we’ve achieved our aim to raise awareness.”

Mason had already made a plan to leave for Germany after Stu offered him some work there, with Betsy horrified that he hadn’t told her about his plan – even though he said he hadn’t decided to go just yet.
