This Morning presenter Ben Shephard once faced a significant health scare that proved quite alarming. The daytime star, 50, burst the capillaries around his eyes after a New Zealand stunt. He initially explored the nation’s daredevil attractions during a university gap year. Nevertheless, it’s his latest journey to the southern hemisphere that has captured everyone’s attention, reports The Mirror.

Speaking to the Telegraph regarding his travel enthusiasm, Ben remembered: “The last time I was there, I had to bungee jump for a television show we were filming. My cameraman wanted to film me from loads of different positions, so I ended up doing four bungee jumps back to back.

“When I got to the hotel that night, I saw that all the capillaries around my eyes had burst from all that pressure. I probably pushed my luck a little bit too far and got carried away, but loved every minute of it.”

This revelation emerges as Ben previously thrilled supporters by revealing his “bucket list moment” whilst celebrating a significant birthday.

The television personality recently reached his half-century and has since been marking the occasion with a string of personal challenges.

He’s been updating his Instagram audience throughout his journey, having pledged to become “the fittest I’ve ever been” whilst tackling cold water swimming, completing 5k walks and enduring ice baths. He subsequently extended his celebrations with a family adventure to Australia.

At the time, he offered a glimpse into his travels with his sons, with Ben penning: ” So this is just a little bit exciting! ! ! !”.

“As part of my 50th year celebrations continue (have I mentioned I’ve turned 50) a proper bucket list moment, as we’ve just landed in Australia with the family – to support the British and Irish Lions across their tests! ! ! !”.

“I’m doing a bit of work but mostly doing a lot of cheering, supporting and merch acquiring…Lions Suitcases anyone. Can’t wait for later – thoughts on the score? ? ? Also in Brisbane for a few days any recommends will be gratefully received!”.

Supporters and pals quickly rallied to express their enthusiasm, with Loose Women’s Katie Piper commenting: “That’s such a great thing to do as a family.
