Although the northerner’s habit has irked some of his housemates, Jack has been relentless in striving to obsess over his favourite beverage.
We can now reveal Jack’s pals say the 37-year-old had hopes of landing a tea brand deal.
A source told The Sun: “Everyone who knows Jack knows he loves his cups of tea, but he also knew the potential for an advertising deal when he gets out the house.
“Whether it’s made him friends or not while on the show, he doesn’t care.
“He’s more interested in getting a deal that he can get past Corrie bosses.
“Everyone knows money’s tight on the cobbles at the moment and the cast are looking for extra ways to make some dosh.
“He’s spoken about promotions and advertising a good few times on the show and pointed out that no one’s ever bothered about doing a deal with him.
“However, he’s now in the final of Celebrity Big Brother and is a dark horse to win. He knows that by making tea a part of his personality on the show, that it gives me a good opportunity on the outside.”
Despite being first to face the public vote, Jack is now in the final six.
On Friday he’ll battle it out with Chris Hughes, Donna Preston, Danny Beard, JoJo Siwa and Chesney Hawkes to be crowned a CBB champion.
The Sun has reached out to Coronation Street.
