JoJo Siwa is setting the record straight about her relationship with Celebrity Big Brother UK co-star Chris Hughes, emphasizing the authenticity and strength of their unique connection.

In a candid new interview with Us Weekly published Friday, the Dance Moms alum shared that the public speculation surrounding their dynamic doesn’t faze either of them. “What’s so special about Chris and I is that our bond is so genuine that neither of us care what people make of it,” JoJo explained. “We both know exactly what we mean to each other, and that’s all that matters.” She went on to describe their friendship as something rare and joyful, noting that they constantly stay in touch—even sharing dance videos with each other just for fun. “It’s a great little special friendship that we have,” she said, beaming. As fans continue to wonder whether there’s more to their relationship, JoJo remains focused on what she values most: a real, drama-free connection built on laughter, trust, and shared moments.

The “Celebrity Big Brother UK” stars bonded after Hughes defended Siwa following Mickey Rourke’s use of a homophobic slur.
Hughes, 32, famously stood up for Siwa, 21, after housemate Mickey Rourke was openly homophobic in the show.
A close friendship developed between the two — with the singer realizing that she’s not a lesbian anymore and redefining herself as queer.
“I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, but I think you — I think being here, I’ve realized, ‘Oh no, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer,’” she told co-star Danny Beard.

Dating speculation blossomed between them after Siwa broke up with partner Kath Ebbs, and she was spotted at a UK golf and tennis club with Hughes.
But, Siwa explained, while the relationship is “special,” it’s a friendship — not a romance.
“Obviously he stood up for me in the beginning right away, which was beautiful,” she told the outlet.

“This person is meant to be in my life,” Siwa told Us Weekly for the expansive interview.Us Weekly

“And then, he threw a ball of socks at me to catch it, and it knocked me straight in the face,” she continued. “And it was probably that day that I just felt, and he felt as well, that this person is meant to be in my life.”
Siwa added, “I’ve had it with a few other people in my life, friends who come into your life and the dynamic is so special.”
When asked if she was “disappointed” by the speculation about a potential romantic relationship with Hughes, Siwa said it’s a non-issue for the pals.

“We are friends and we are going to continue to be in each other’s lives,” she continued in part.
“The world having whatever say they have isn’t going to make us never see each other. I think the world expected us to be like ‘ooh, rumors, we can never see each other.’ Believe it or not, it’s not what we talk about.”
