Kate Garraway BREAKS DOWN On Air…Viewers Rally With Overwhelming Support After Her TEARFUL CONFESSION About Children

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway, 58, filmed herself in her car after dropping her children, Darcey Draper, 19, and William Draper, 16, off at sixth form following a long summer holiday. But Kate admitted how hard she found it seeing them start a new chapter as she referenced her late husband Derek Draper, who had shared school drop-offs in the past before his tragic death in 2024.
Sitting in the driving seat, Kate began: “What is it about kids? They never change, do they? They just manage to break your heart in a million different ways. I’ve sat here with a flash – or a cup – of tea with Derek on their first day of school, going to secondary and waiting outside for GCSE results as you are not allowed to go in with them to collect those.

“And now I am just dropping off for the first day of sixth form college, some distance from the school, but with enough of a vantage point to check they walk in. There is something about the walk in when you know they are anxious but trying to be strong that just gets me every time.”
Kate tried to choke back her tears and clutched at her chest to allow herself to share the rest of her sentencing without sobbing.
“Anyway, I will be here having a further car picnic a bit later at pick up – again some distance from the school, hoping to see a walk out with a group of kids,” Kate emotionally added.
“I’m hoping when he spots the car, he is slightly unhappy to see Vickie Volvo because I am disrupting something, rather than a look of relief.”
Kate concluded with a sigh: “Uh, back to school. I think it was easier when it was me, myself. Does anyone else feel the same?”
The Good Morning Britain star wrote a touching comment attached to the video, which was supported by her followers, who flocked to comment.

She wrote: “First day at new school—never gets easier, does it? And I’m talking about for us parents here! We have had so many #carpicnics in Vickie Volvo, trying to pretend I am not there but still being there “just in case”—gets me every time.”
One follower responded to her video, “You’re doing the most amazing job, Mama. I’m infinitely proud of you .” A second added, “Sending you big hugs, Kate.”
A third said: “I feel you, it never ends, I’m currently waiting for my 1st born to deliver her 1st born, our 1st grandchild, but the mum anxiety is real.”
