Strictly Come Dancing champion and newly-blonde Kelvin Fletcher brought hope to scores of Emmerdale fans when he returned to ITV Studios yesterday (July 22).
Kelvin, who played Andy Sugden for a whole 20 years, revealed that he was back at the heart of the action in a mysterious Instagram Stories video.
“It’s been years, it’s been years since I was here,” he told the camera as he panned to the ITV building.
Discussing a possible return to the Dales, Kelvin said: “Before you all get excited, sadly it’s not a return to Emmerdale. I’m just here doing some filming for ITV. But either way, I have got goosebumps.”

While it’s unlikely that Andy Sugden will be spotted in the Woolpack any time soon, a comeback is always possible – back in 2018, Kelvin admitted he “could” always return.
Two years on from his departure, the actor also reflected on his decision to leave the soap, saying that the storylines, the show itself, and the morale were all “great”.
“The storylines on Emmerdale were great, the show was great, and the morale around the place was great. But I found myself in this weird position,” he explained. “They had given me this sense of belief and sense of confidence, and I felt that artistically, I was really coming into my own…
“I had a real appetite to do other things, play different characters, and work in different areas.”
