Kelvin Fletcher quit his iconic role in Emmerdale all the way back in 2016 after troubled Andy Sugden for 20 years

Kelvin Fletcher has teased a dramatic return to Emmerdale as his beloved character Andy Sugden. He left the popular ITV soap back in 2016 after playing the role for 20 years, and now he might well be on his way back to the Dales.
He left acting to pursue a career in rally racing, as well as explore new roles while taking part in reality TV shows. Since his departure, Kelvin went on to win Strictly Come Dancing before opening up his own farm and now he’s hinting at a dazzling return to where it all began for him with Emmerdale.
“Never say never,” he teased in a new interview. His return would hopefully answer questions from viewers who haven’t seen Kelvin’s character for years. He abandoned his daughter Sarah and son Jack and fled to escape being falsely imprisoned.

“It’s an incredible show, it’s got an unbelievable fanbase, since I left it’s gone from strength to strength,” he told Metro.co.uk. Appearing to keep his cards close to his chest, Kelvin teased: “Maybe that’s a sign I should stay away.
“I’ve just finished a drama, I left to go and explore other things artistically and not only that, have a bit of adventure! I watch the show as a fan now and I’m lucky in that sense.” It’s not the first time he’s hinted a potential soap reunion.
After Moira Dingle was forced to put her farm up for sale, the actor joked he could return to Emmerdale to carry out a “rescue mission” using his new-found farming knowledge. Writing on social media, he said: “I’ll buy it.”
At the time, one fan remarked: “Yes new story, someone buys the farm, but who ? – Andy of course!” While another said: “Yes! The auction mystery buyer on the phone. Excellent!!” A third chimed in: “Please come back on our screens and buy it lol.”
While another wrote: “Yes please the Dales is missing you and so are we! Especially Moira, she can do with you about now on the farm.” It comes after, in Kelvin’s real life, he said he can’t wait to welcome fans to his farm when he throws open its doors at Christmas.
Kelvin and his wife look set to rake in the cash over the festive period weeks after he announced his latest career move. Kelvin and his wife Liz live on a 120-acre farm with their four children and there’s going to be more people around after deciding to put their home to good use.
After doing something similar at Easter, they’ve decided to get Santa involved this time. They’ll give kids a day they’ll never forget with animals a plenty and he wrote: “Fletchers on the Farm Presents……….SANTA’S VILLAGE!! After the incredible success of our Easter Wonderland event, we have decided to open up our farm THIS CHRISTMAS. We can’t wait to welcome you and your family for the MOST MAGICAL event of the season.”
