Andrew Marr made a staggering confession amid the Middle East conflict.

Broadcaster Andrew Marr halted his famed LBC show to issue an urgent warning about the conflict within the Middle East. As he addressed listeners, the 66-year-old also reflected on the 2003 Iraq War and admitted he was on the wrong side of history. The Talk Show host announced: “Tonight, I just want to speak out against self-righteousness by bringing you a confession. “From the beginning, I was against the Iraq War but for the wrong reasons. I thought that Saddam’s [Hussein] military would be mighty and would kill too many of our own people.”

Andrew continued: “I argued with ministers and Labour MPs before the war, and I lost friendships. Then the war in a military sense, like this one, so far was a triumphant success. I over-corrected, and when anti-Saddam crowds were cheering in Baghdad and pulling down his statue, I lauded Tony Blair as the leader who had proved his critics wrong.”

The radio legend went on: “Too early, too damn early, because then came the civil war. The terrible loss of civilian life and he hideous growth of ISIS put together one of the great disasters during my lifetime.
“We are at the beginning of something in Iran, many miles from the end game, and it is far too early to form a kind of swaggering, fist-pumping victory dance that Pete Hegseth, the US Defence Secretary, is currently enjoying.”
“And it’s also far too early to insist that this must all end in another Middle East disaster,” Andrew stated.
Defending the Prime Minister, he added: “Keir Starmer has to make decisions, against today, he’s been savagely attacked for them. The rest of us have the luxury of being able to exercise caution and self-doubt.
“Let us not pretend the certainty that is fundamentally dishonest, “Andrew concluded.
This comes after Starmer vowed to avoid the same mistakes as the Iraq War.
As he addressed other politicians at the House of Commons on Monday (February 23), the UK leader assured that the government remembered the “mistakes of Iraq” and would always operate on a “lawful basis” and with a “viable thought-through plan” to the crisis erupting in the Middle East.
Sir Keir has also granted the US military permission to use British bases, including Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, for conducting “specific and limited defensive purposes” strikes aimed at the regime.
In a fresh update, the politician announced that four extra Typhoon fighter jets are being deployed to Qatar and two Wildcat helicopters armed with drone-busting missiles heading for Cyprus, as the conflict continues to escalate.
