I’m A Celebrity’s Angry Ginge may be the 2025 King of the Jungle, but the YouTube star reportedly lost out on deals worth hundreds of thousands by doing the ITV show

Angry Ginge actually lost money by taking part in I’m A Celebrity.
The overall winner has reportedly lost hundreds of thousands after snubbing lucrative deals to appear on the ITV show. The 24-year-old became the first social media star to become King of the Jungle in Sunday night’s final, beating Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson and EastEnders’ Shona McGarty to take the crown.
Speaking after his win, Ginge – real name Morgan Burtwistle – said: “I’ve always said that I am the master of the mind, but that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. There were so many days that I wanted to throw in the towel. The toughest part was the spiders!”
While the star will have been paid a fee to take part in the show, it is reported that he will have lost out on lucrative contracts during his three-week stint in the jungle. “Ginge has lost hundreds of thousands of pounds coming on to this show, he didn’t do it for him, he did it to make his mum proud,” a source said.
They continued to the Daily Mail: “He missed out on all the brand deals on the run up to Christmas and a month of streaming.” The Mirror has reached out to Angry Ginge’s representatives for comment.

Angry Ginge rose to fame on Twitch, on which he now boasts an impressive five million followers. Through the platform, the influencer is likely to make money through subscriptions, sponsorship deals and donations from fans.
Earlier this week, former winner Sam Thompson revealed that Ginge will have “nothing to show” for his triumph as champions are forced to hand back the crown and wooden sceptre. “I didn’t get to keep anything. They wouldn’t let me keep anything,” he said.
Winners also don’t receive a cash prize for winning the competition, just their pre-arranged appearance fee. Ginge reportedly received a fee of £100,000 for taking part in the show.
Speaking to The Mirror after his win, Ginge admitted that he almost quit the show after just two hours. “I was debating on the very first day, and I’d only been in there for a couple of hours,” he said.
“It was late when I’d got in, and I was expecting a steak but it was one steak between four of us, and that was a shock. That was the eye opener.”

The star took a pop at his estranged dad in a social media post, sharing a fan’s meme of Matthew McConaughey sobbing from the film Interstellar with the text: “Angry Ginge’s dad watching his past self walk out on his son, who would go on to win I’m a Celebrity.”
Commenting on the clip, Ginge replied: “HAHAHAHAHAHAH” before posting a shot of a huge plate of steak and chips as he enjoyed all his luxury hotel on the Gold Coast has to offer.
