Her character was at the centre of one of Corrie’s most shocking storylines.

The actress is now set for a return to BBC medical drama Casualty.

Lucy-Jo made a guest appearance as single mum Adele Thompson in last December’s Christmas special.

It’s currently unclear as to how the character will return but will reportedly be seen on screen again later this month.

It comes just months after she teased a new acting job following months of struggling to find work.

The soap star revealed how she was working as a travel agent in a side hustle to keep money coming in while she auditioned for new acting roles.

In 2023, Lucy-Jo was written out of Hollyoaks having starred as Donna Marie Quinn.

Meanwhile, her original Casualty episode depicted the hospital’s blood shortage amid a donor emergency.

Six-year-old Leah – the daughter of Lucy-Jo’s character – was discovered to be severely anaemic and needed a blood transfusion.

Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) later confessed to Dylan Keogh (William Beck) that she thought Leah had leukaemia but she hadn’t told her mum yet.

She explained how maybe she can let them have Christmas together and wait until Boxing Day to give them the news.

But in a heart breaking scene, Stevie informed a sobbing Adele of the truth.

The screen then switched to James, a real life father whose daughter Rachel had a similar illness, and it was like a punch to the stomach for viewers.

In a highly emotional scene, he explained how blood donations literally kept his daughter alive and gave her extra time to be with him.

Back in the ED, the emotional journey continued when Stevie told Iain that Leah shouldn’t be in hospital but should be opening Christmas presents back at home.

A viewer wrote at the time: “Blimey this is harrowing. Thank you to anybody who gives blood and all the wonderful people who try to keep us alive.”

Another added: “I’m am an emotional wreck Xx.”
