Warning: This post contains spoilers for “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 1.
“The White Lotus” returned for its third season on Feb. 16, and fans have already begun dissecting each scene (and debating the new theme song).
Season 3 of the hit HBO show, created by Mike White, unfolds in Thailand. The premiere introduces the new cast of characters, including a Southern family, three childhood friends, a couple with a large age gap and Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), the spa manager from Season 1.
The cast’s most surprising addition came as a twist at the end of the first episode. Greg Hunt (Jon Gries), the husband of heiress Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), shows up as the boyfriend of a younger woman. Greg helped orchestrate Tanya’s death, then disappeared in Season 2. Now, he’s living in Thailand near the resort.

Episode 1 also introduced glimpses of the murder — a body floats by following a shooting, sparking theories.

What’s in store for the rest of Season 3?
Spoiler alert for “The White Lotus” Season 3.
According to the teaser dropped at the end of the premiere, things will — in typical “White Lotus” fashion — go off the rails.
A few of the highlights? Timothy Ratliff’s (Jason Isaacs) office is visited by the FBI. The Ratliff siblings continue to display an even weirder dynamic. Greg searches for Belinda at the resort. The tension between the three friends — Jaclyn Lemon (Michelle Monaghan), Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Laurie (Carrie Coon) — continues to mount as an attractive man is thrown into the mix. And Rick Hatchett (Walter Goggins) lies to the hotel owner about what his purpose in Thailand is.

The teaser’s ending moments feature a flurry of scenes including Jaclyn dancing with someone at a club while Laurie and Kate talk about her, Belinda leaning in for a kiss, Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) staring at each other in a hotel room at night, a robber in the middle of a burglary, plenty of guns and, finally, Piper about to scream in terror at something she’s seeing off camera.
There are plenty of twists and turns coming your way this season, so don’t miss an episode.
