On Christmas day Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce made headlines when he pulled out Tony Gonzalez’s iconic touchdown celebration after passing the legend for most touchdowns in franchise history. “I knew the score, and I knew that my guy Harrison had my back on the [PAT],” Kelce said after the game, via ESPN.

“So, it’s showing Tony some love and just a big tribute to who he’s been in this, not only this organization but who he’s been for football, and we know how iconic it was that he would dunk the ball over the goalpost all the time. I gave my best effort. I don’t know if I did it quite like him.”

Just a few days later he and girlfriend Taylor Swift were back in the headlines after a date night out in New York City.

The couple was spotted in coordinated outfits, but details of their date night remained mum until a report from Page Six.

According to the outlet, Swift and Kelce met up with “pals Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley for a cozy dinner at BondST restaurant.” The report suggested the couple will spend the next few days together before Kelce returns to Kansas City for practice ahead of the team’s final game against the Denver Broncos next weekend.

The Chiefs locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff race with the team’s blowout win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas day.

With home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a week off coming up, the Chiefs could decide to rest star players like Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the final game of the regular season.
