Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce reportedly credits a top NFL reporter for matchmaking him and Taylor Swift.

The 35-year-old Travis Kelce has been in a highly publicized relationship with the world’s most famous singer for almost two years now. Their romance has brought plenty of additional exposure to the NFL, especially the Chiefs’ organization.

Swift frequently attends Chiefs games, including the last two Super Bowls. After playoff victories, Swift comes onto the field to celebrate with Kelce and the rest of the team.

According to a report from Vanessa Serna and Sarah Jones Page Six, Kelce and Swift had dinner with popular Fox Sports NFL reporter Erin Andrews in Montana. A source told them that Kelce “jokingly” gives Andrews credit for helping them become a thing.

“Erin is close friends with Taylor and Travis, and Travis even jokingly credits Erin with encouraging Taylor to date him,” a source told Serna and Jones. “They’re all good friends.”

Page Six cited old comments from Andrews on her podcast in 2023, where she advised Taylor Swift to give Travis Kelce a chance. There is no word on whether Swift listened to that podcast, but Andrews’ suggestion came to life anyway.

Kelce pondered retirement after the Chiefs’ heartbreaking Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. But the three-time Super Bowl champion agreed to come back for a 13th season, with reports indicating that Swift encouraged him to continue playing.

Kelce showed signs of decline during the 2024 season, finishing with only 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. Kelce finished below 1,000 receiving yards for the second straight year and was relatively quiet in the postseason with only 75 yards and a TD in three games.

The future Hall of Famer may not be in his prime anymore, but he’s still a useful part of the Patrick Mahomes-led offense. At this rate, it feels like Kelce will definitely hang up the cleats and leave on a high note if the Chiefs win Super Bowl 60.
