Emotions ran high on the Coronation Street set as Daniel Brocklebank filmed his final scenes as Billy Mayhew.

Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby was left in tears as she filmed her final scenes alongside Daniel Brocklebank. The actor, has played clergyman Billy Bayhew since 2014 and will make his final appearance as the character in 2026. Taking to Instagram, Daniel, 45, shared a snap taken from his last day on set, showing him embracing a tearful Harriet, who has played his on-screen daughter Summer Spellman since 2020. Daniel described the 27-year-old as a “beautiful human” and “incredible woman” as he penned an emotional message about their final scenes together.
He penned: “My final day today working with this beautiful human. I’ve loved playing her tv dad. What an honour it has been. An incredible woman. I shall miss her terribly. Thank goodness I’ll get to see her in real life for dinners, walks & cuddles.” The post drew significant attention from fans but also from several stars of the ITV soap. Harriet commented: “What an adventure we had! [heart emoji] I love you loads x”.
Todd Grimshaw star Gareth Pierce gushed: “Love you both the most [crying emoji] [heart eye emoji].”
Sally Carman, who portrays Abi Franklin, penned: “Oh you guys [crying emoji] [heart emoji].”
Former Corrie star Peter Ash added: “You two are ace! xx”.
Marking the end of his 11-year run on the soap, Daniel penned on Instagram: “That’s it. Last scene filmed. Bye bye @coronationstreet. Bye bye Billy. The last 11 years have gone by in a blink. I’ve adored every moment of being part of this special family. I can’t thank @itv and all at Corrie enough. It’s been a ride. I adore you all.”
Confirming his exit, Daniel previously said: “I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not looked forward to going into work.

“I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.”
Corrie producer Kate Brooks has hinted that Billy will be pushed to his breaking point in the months ahead, fuelling speculation that he may be killed off.
She added: “Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit.
“We’re incredibly sad to bid farewell to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of Corrie’s biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul’s MND.
“An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an absolute treasure behind the scenes – he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles.”
