Kelvin Fletcher was criticised by fans for not wearing a helmet while riding a scooter with his daughter Marnie, three, up and down his driveway.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 36, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a video of him enjoying some quality time with his little one during the UK’s lockdown by going on the Vespa.

Kelvin was so enthusiastic about the ride that he claimed Marnie could take it up professionally in the future, as he joked: ‘Ok she’s only three but I’m calling it now. A young @valeyellow46 (Valentino Rossi).’

However while an excited Marnie wore a safety helmet for the journey, Kelvin didn’t, which prompted some fans to criticise his decision.

One follower chided: ‘If he does not wear a helmet he won’t be safe. Act responsible, act your age. Not a good example for other motorcycle users. Use your helmet you have only one brain.’

While another added: ‘Where is your helmet? Not very responsible parent.’

Responding to this comment, one follower went on: ‘not a very good example to other kids on his profile.’

And another fan commented that he should ‘wear a helmet to cover that yellow hair.’

Kelvin has since deleted the comments from the post, but kept the video up despite the backlash he received.

Earlier this month, Kelvin left fans in shock when he revealed a new look after dyeing his hair blond while in lockdown.

Sharing a slew of pictures that showed the full process of getting his hair dyed, his hair went from brunette to ginger, and then finally to bright blond as wife Liz Marsland helped him bring the new look to life.

Kelvin put on an animated display in the photos, as he wore shocked expressions and forlorn looks throughout the photos.

Joking about the arduous process of dyeing his hair, Kelvin said in the caption: ‘From brunettre to ginger (favourite part) to yellow. Now where’s that toner.’
