The protagonist, Lelouch Lamperouge, is one of the best-written anime characters of all time. While most mainstream anime struggle to satisfy fans with their conclusions, Code Geass doesn’t have that problem. And even if you find yourself disappointed with how things end, there’s an alternate ending as well.

However, the mecha paired up with the politics and the plot twists could get a bit too complex especially if someone is not a fan of heavily action-oriented series. Although, in the anime’s defense, the pay-off is excellent and feels satisfactory. The other aspect that can make it difficult for fans to like it is the fan service.

Code Geass doesn’t shy away from fan service and generously incorporates it wherever and whenever. Except for these two issues, it is undoubtedly one of the best anime whether you just want something entertaining and thrilling or you want to experience a show that compels you to think.
