It is safe to say that Eustass Kid’s chapter is closed in One Piece, but if he returns to fight Shanks, it will be with another dangerous character.
SUMMARY
One of the strongest members of the Worst Generation, Eustass Kid recently got defeated by Shanks.
However, there is a possibility that he may return once again to take on Shanks.
But this time, his ally will be one of the most dangerous characters of One Piece.
For the last few arcs in One Piece, the members of the Worst Generation have held incredible importance within the narrative. From Scratchmen Apoo to X Drake, every Worst Generation pirate has made their presence felt in the storyline, but as of now, almost every one of them except Luffy and Zoro has tasted defeat. And the most recent one is Eustass Kid losing against Shanks.

When Luffy was dealing with the Five Elders and an entire Navy Fleet, Eustass Kid was on his way to meet the man marked by flames. His journey took him to Elbaph, where he came face to face with Shanks’ pirate fleet and decided to exact revenge on him for their previous encounter. However, just like last time, Eustass Kid was devastatingly defeated by the One Piece Emperor.
Thus, as of now, his whereabouts are unknown, and many fans believe that he might have died from Shanks’ attack. But if he somehow survived, it is safe to say that he will make a return to the One Piece narrative, and this time he may ally with someone who can help take Shanks down. And the only character who might be capable of that in One Piece is Blackbeard.
Eustass Kid’s disappointing defeat against Shanks
During the One Piece time skip Kid decided to take on the Red-Haired Pirates but was defeated by Shanks’ first mate, Benn Beckman, resulting in him losing his arm. Since then, Kid has been thinking about his revenge against Shanks and even formed an alliance with other members of the Worst Generation to take down the Emperor of the Sea.
However, circumstances led to him being imprisoned in Wano, where he had to form another alliance with Law and Luffy against Kaido and Big Mom. The three managed to defeat two One Piece Emperors at once and decided to take separate routes, which finally led to their alliance coming to a successful end. From there on, Kid started his journey towards Elbaph, where he met with Shanks.

When Kid saw Shanks’ fleet, revenge took over him, and he defeated Shanks’ entire fleet. But when he came face to face with Shanks, he couldn’t even last a minute, and the strongest characters of the Kid Pirates were taken down by one attack from Shanks. Later on, their entire ship was destroyed by Dorry and Brogy, resulting in their absolute defeat in One Piece.
Eustass Kid’s return would not be good for Luffy
As mentioned above, Kid has formed a couple of alliances over the years to take down the Emperors of One Piece, and one of them even succeeded. Thus, it is safe to say that if he has survived the attack from the Shanks, he will make a comeback to exact his final revenge, but this time he will return with an ally.

However, unlike previous times, Kid won’t get any help from allying with a member of the Worst Generation, as most of them are defeated and the rest are not powerful enough to take on Shanks and his crew in One Piece. Thus, the only option left for him is to shake hands with another Emperor of the Sea who is strong enough to take on Shanks.
The only One Piece character who is powerful and crazy enough to fight Shanks is Blackbeard. This is why it can be assumed that if Kid returns, he will come back with Blackbeard and take on Shanks, which would not be good for Luffy, as Luffy and Blackbeard are mortal enemies in One Piece.
