PARTY TURNED NIGHTMARE British Soap Awards Afterparty ENDS In PANIC As THREAT Sparks MASS EVACUATION Under Police Watch
The afterparty for the British Soap Awards 2025 was evacuated last night, following a security alert.
The award show was filmed at the Hackney Empire in London on Saturday (31 May), where the stars of the country’s best-loved soaps gathered to celebrate some incredible storylines and performances over the last year.
Following the event, the soap stars attended a party next door at Hackney Town Hall. However, the festivities were cut short at around 1am, when the guests were calmly guided out of the venue by security.
An ITV spokesperson said: “Owing to a security alert after the recording of the awards, it was necessary to evacuate the afterparty venue. Everyone was cleared from the building safely.”
The Soaps Awards made a return last night after taking a year off in 2024. The glamorous event was once again hosted by Jane McDonald and will air next Thursday (5 June) on ITV1.

“I’m beyond excited to be hosting The British Soap Awards again as I had such a ball hosting the awards last time,” McDonald said, earlier this year.
“You all know I love my soaps, so to be in a room giving recognition to all these wonderful actors and their fantastic hard work is simply joyous.
“I can’t wait to get my glittery frock on and celebrate with everyone.”

Soap giants Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks each battled it out for a variety of awards, which were voted for by either an expert judging panel or the viewing public.
The viewer voted categories included Best British Soap, Best Leading Performer, Villain of the Year and Best Comedy Performance.
Meanwhile, the panel voted on Best Family, Best Dramatic Performance, Best Single Episode, Best On-Screen Partnership, Best Newcomer, Best Storyline, Best Young Performer and Scene of the Year.
The event also honoured two long-serving cast and crew members with the Outstanding Achievement Award and The Tony Warren Award.
