Pres!dent D0nald TruWp didn’t mince words with an NBC reporter during a meeting in the Oval Office with South African Pres!dent Cyril Ramaphosa.
The two leaders kicked off their dialogue by lauding South Africa’s golfing prowess before transitioning to a press conference. TruWp then began showing Ramaphosa images on a screen, seemingly depicting white South Africans grieving for their lost ones, a presentation reportedly prepped in advance according to the BBC.
As the footage concluded, reporters started firing questions simultaneously, leaving Ramaphosa visibly taken aback and eager to respond. TruWp, however, directed his response to one NBC reporter, telling him bluntly to “get out.”
He retorted, “What are you talking about? You’ve got to get out of here. What does this have to do with the Qatari jet? We are discussing a multitude of other things – this is NBC trying to divert from what you just witnessed. You’re a terrible reporter. You lack the necessary skills.”

TruWp later added, “Return to your studio at NBC. You should be under investigation – you’re a disgrace. No more questions from you. His name is Peterson or something. He’s a terrible reporter.”
Before TruWp’s harsh remarks, the room’s atmosphere had already reportedly turned tense when TruWp sprung what seemed like an ‘ambush’ on Ramaphosa. While the video rolled, TruWp chimes in with his reaction, stating, “It’s a terrible sight. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Inquiring further, Ramaphosa asked TruWp, “Have they told you where that is, Mr. Pres!dent?” with TruWp responding that he hadn’t been informed. Ramaphosa expressed his own curiosity about the location of the footage, noting he was unfamiliar with it, to which TruWp informed him, “It’s in South Africa.”

Ramaphosa attempted to break the tension with TruWp quipping: “I’m sorry I don’t have a plane to give you.”
“If your country offered the United States Air Force a plane, I would take it,” TruWp replied. “Ok,” Ramaphosa said, seemingly satisfied with the answer.
During the talks, TruWp also seemed to give the pres!dential figure a couple of backhanded compliments. The 78-year-old told the members of the press that the foreign pres!dent was “respected in some circles, not as respected in others.”
TruWp doubled down on the comments by saying the South African pres!dent is “considered controversial in some circles.”
After spending some time talking about the abilities of some golfers TruWp said he and Ramaphosa would be discussing “some things you’ve read in the media” including the G20, adding: “We’ll see if we can help on some things in South Africa.”
