Prince Harry wrapped up the Invictus Games in Vancouver, but left yet another blow at his father. They continue to be at odds, meaning the King is a bit estranged from the grandchildren.
King Charles III has made no secret of his desire to spend more time with his grandchildren – yet a resolve may not be on the cards for some time as Prince Harry has revealed future plans for his children.
The Duke of Sussex, who quit as senior member of the Royal Family in 2020, has made no secret of his concerns about bringing his children Archie and Lilibet to the UK amid security fears.
Now, in what could be seen as a blow to the king, Prince Harry has opened up about future plans for his children to fly to Vancouver to enjoy the Invictus Games and see the work they do there. He has not yet spoken about plans for his kids to go to England
When asked about bringing the kids to Vancouver, proud father-of-two Prince Harry, told Town & Country: “Absolutely,” adding that he would “love for them to experience the Invictus spirit firsthand one day.” Harry, who founded the Invictus Games in 2014 as a multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel, said: “Right now, they’re still young, but we already talk about the importance of resilience, community, and service—everything Invictus represents.”

It comes as the Mirror revealed last November King Charles’ Christmas wish was to see more of his grandchildren ‘could be first step’ in uniting Prince William and Prince Harry.
The sovereign is hoping to spend more time with his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – and wanted nothing more than to be united over the festive season, sources have claimed.
Reports have been rife that the King is hoping to build a relationship with son Prince Harry’s children who he has met just a couple of times. The monarch has now expressed his desire to spend more time with the two youngsters after his health woes as he revealed his cancer battle earlier this year, experts report.
A source told the Mirror US: “King Charles has expressed his wishes to see his grandchildren – and there’s no better time than the festive period to bring families together. There is no feeling like being a grand-parent and it is a role King Charles relishes. It is his hope for his family to be reunited and there’s no better way than spending quality time with his grandchildren at Christmas. It would be truly special.”
The source added: “There’s nothing King Charles wants more than to see see his family united, and for his sons to put the past behind them and move forward. These are his twilight years and he wants to enjoy them with his grandchildren making special memories.”
Meanwhile Prince Harry was ‘rushed out’ of the Invictus Games after a ‘security alert’ – as Meghan Markle was not in the vicinity.
They flew to Vancouver for the Invictus Games earlier this month for a relatively smooth run. However, at the Vollyball game it has been reported Prince Harry was caught up in a ‘security alert’ as the games drew to an end.
The Daily Mail reported Prince Harry was forced to leave a sitting volleyball event at the Invictus Games early after his ‘security team intervened amid crowd safety concerns.’
