Emmerdale fans were left thrilled as they got a glimpse of the ‘old Kim’ last night. And they even seem to enjoy her new alliance with Joe.
For months viewers haven’t known if Joe and Kim were really allies, or if they were going to be working against each other. But it looks like their battle has been put to the side and now they will work with each other to keep the Tate legacy unstoppable.
But to get to this, Kim had to try to get Caleb to call a truce with Joe, which worked to be a bit more difficult than she hoped. However, Kim isn’t one to give in so easily, and she managed to make her point and win.

Emmerdale Kim and Joe team-up
In last night’s episode (April 22), Cain went to Kim in the hopes that she would know how to stop Caleb from killing Joe. And she had an idea.
She gathered Caleb, Ruby, Cain and Joe to Home Farm to talk through what will happen next, determined to keep peace.
Kim recognised Caleb as Frank’s son and promised that he would have compensation for Joe stealing his kidney. While Caleb demanded a quarter of Home Farm, Kim wasn’t about to let that happen.
Instead she gave him a portion of her land, with a harsh warning that should he keep things going with Joe, he will have her as an enemy too. It seems Kim has finally remembered she is the Queen of Home Farm.
When Joe thanked her, she assured him they need to be on one team because the Tate name means a lot to both of them. And by joining forces, fans were glad to see the sides to both Kim and Joe that we love.

Fans rejoice as ‘old Kim’ returns
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “I love the return of Queen Kim. She’s back on form.”
Another added: “I hope this Kim and Joe duo lasts a long time please. They would be an iconic team.”
A third penned: “Kim Tate is going to bring them all down if they mess with her family.”
“Finally, the old Kim is back! We have missed you” another commented.
While it remains to be seen if Joe and Kim’s team-up will last, but some fans fear that his time is coming to an end in the village. So, could his alliance with Kim be enough to give him a permanent spot in Emmerdale?
Either way, welcome back old Kim Tate – please stick around this time.
