An upcoming Jeopardy! contestant teased fans with the inside scoop.
Her episode is slated to drop on Friday, but she told fans a bit more about the taping process. Heather opened up on Reddit about competing and playing with other competitors.
However, she also distinctly admitted to an embarrassing moment when her dad turned attention to himself. She wrote, “In the green room, we get to watch a live feed of both the game and Ken answering questions during the breaks between rounds. During the first break, I hear someone in the audience asking why there aren’t more questions about minor league baseball, and I realized instantly that was my stepdad. So be careful about who you invite to watch you!”
Heather went on to explain what it looked like for the contestants before taping. She said they played two rehearsal rounds. “I vividly remember playing against Miles in the latter and being both consistently locked out on the buzzer and out-knowledged,” she confessed.

She added, “I was terrified to play him and was not surprised he did so well. He was very kind and gracious and I hope he gets a Second Chance invite! The green room was also very excited he got the Doechii clue. I didn’t get a chance to talk to Jim and Judith as much but was definitely very impressed by them.”
Jeopardy! competitors, especially those who excel, tend to become celebrities within their own little world. They often give fans a look behind-the-scenes, revealing what it’s really look to appear on the famous quiz show.
One competitor, Andrew Hayes, a law student from Tupelo, M.S., defended himself after a rather difficult loss. He said on Reddit, “This was an absolutely brutal set of questions for me. It’s rare that I have two categories in a round I have to almost completely punt on, and tonight it happened in both rounds.
“Still could have won if I played a perfect game but missing the Guiteau question hurt a lot, and then my mind was completely scrambled on the final. So it goes…”
Another competitor, Liam Starnes, completely ghosted the show after his six-game win streak. While he’s been a bit quieter, Liam kept fans in the loop via his words on Reddit.

Admitting he was in a “state of disbelief” when he had the opportunity to compete, he said, “Once it sank in that this was really happening, I knew I needed to find the right balance: should I study as much as I could, filling in my weaknesses but also adding a lot of extra pressure?
“Or do I ignore all thoughts about winning and losing and pretend like I’m just flying out to LA and playing a game on the Jeopardy stage for fun? I probably would have studied a bit more if I could do it over again, but overall I think I handled the pre-taping process well.”
