The longtime couple revealed their go-to items for surviving a long night at the Oscars

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took date night to the next level as they arrived at the 2025 Oscars.
The longtime couple walked the Academy Awards carpet together on Sunday, March 2. Ripa, 54, showed off her impressive physique in a Zuhair Murad orange chiffon draped gown with cutouts and kept the look classically elegant with a sleek ponytail and a pair of drop earrings.
Her husband, 53, went classic in a double-breasted tuxedo with a bowtie and added a small pop of collar on his lapel with a multicolor pin.
While they turned up the glam for the carpet, they admitted that they packed some alternative footwear to switch into once they get inside the Dolby Theatre for the show.
“I have a pair of Uggs backstage,” Ripa told The Hollywood Reporter, as Consuelos confessed he has a “pair of sneakers backstage.”
Ripa revealed that they also have “candy” on hand for the show.

The duo are preparing for a busy day tomorrow as they host Live‘s annual After the Oscars Show from the Dolby Theatre. The special will include backstage interviews with award winners, which Consuelos told PEOPLE is “always really interesting” to experience.
“Kelly has said it before but when they come to see us, they’re completely out of their body, so you really get those guttural reactions,” he said.
Ripa told PEOPLE it’s a “live-wire show.”
“It really depends on who wins the Academy Award, so there’s no way to sort of properly promote the show because every year, it’s a mystery,” she said. “We’re making decisions sometimes minutes before we go live. It’s shifting. And the buildup to it, all of the editing that goes into, the deciding what gets cut and what’s in the show — it’s a lot of decision-making and a lot of pressure on the fly.”

Regardless of the chaos, she said it “means so much to us to do this” every year.
“To me, seeing our little show with our little staff on the big stage with all of those people in the audience — and I cannot say it enough, they line up so early to be a part of it, which is so kind of them — but it’s just incredible,” Ripa added. “We both just feel so much gratitude.”
