Ruth Langsford has given a curt two-word answer to a query about her ex-husband, Eamonn Holmes. The question arose during a conversation about her new book, Feeling Fabulous, on a recent episode of Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden (Wednesday, March 4).

During the chat, Jamie pointed out that Ruth speaks “candidly” about her ex-husband, Eamonn, in the book, and asked if the GB News presenter had read it himself. Ruth swiftly replied: “Don’t know.” Once a television power couple and regular faces on This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn revealed their intention to divorce after 14 years of marriage in May 2024. Eamonn has since started a relationship with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior.

Ruth offered more insight into what readers can anticipate from the book, stating that whilst she doesn’t touch on her divorce or go into specifics, she does talk about “finding myself single at 65-years-old.”

Amanda then asked if she’d be open to starting a new relationship, to which Ruth responded that she’s “never said never”, but currently, she’s “perfectly happy” with a “full life and great friends”.

In a poignant comment about her perspective, she shared: “I said, ‘I’m going forward with an open mind and an open heart’.”

Jamie observed that the contemporary dating scene is “very different”, as Amanda, hinting at dating apps, chimed in, asking if Ruth would be joining, but she quickly confirmed that she “won’t be swiping”.

Amanda quipped: “She’d probably go the wrong way; she’s like me.” Ruth clarified: “If I’m going to do it, Jamie, I want to do it the old-fashioned way. You know, that I might just walk out of here, bump into somebody. ‘Oh, sorry’, and then find myself having a coffee with them. I don’t know, but I won’t be swiping anyone!”.

Over the weekend, Ruth revealed she would be “going younger” in her next relationship whilst speaking with her friend, Rylan Clark, on his Radio 2 show on Saturday, prompting him to brand her a “cougar”.

He said: “Oh go on, you cougar! There’s the headline of the day, Ruth dating a 22-year-old,” as Ruth agreed: “Go on!” In response, Rylan expressed his enthusiasm about the prospect of Ruth dating again.

Rylan added: “I can’t wait to take you out on the pull, I cannot wait! I can’t wait for the day – come on, me, you, Lizzie Cundy, having a laugh outside some Mayfair bar!”.

A seemingly hesitant Ruth said: “You’ll have to be careful where you’re taking me, because… you know..”

Rylan added: “I won’t be careful in the slightest! I’ll raffle you off to the highest bidder. I’ll be like, ‘who wants her? Someone take her off my hands, please!'”.
