SAD NEWS: BBC Breakfast’s Jon Kay ISSUES Heartfelt Tribute ANNOUNCEMENT to Co-Star Sally Nugent

BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay took to his Instagram stories to announce that one of his co-stars was leaving. Jon shared a picture of Sally Nugent and Breakfast producer Lucy on social media in a sweet tribute.
As the trio sat on the red sofa smiling, Jon penned: “It’s Lucy’s last day as a staff producer on Breakfast. She’s off to develop her podcast @fromalancashirelass.”

As Jon bid farewell to one of his colleagues, on Tuesday’s BBC Breakfast, he welcomed back Sally Nugent, who had taken a leave of absence from the show.
While Sally enjoyed her summer holidays, she was replaced by various presenters, including Luxmy Gopal and Sarah Campbell. Ben Thompson also stepped in as the main presenter.
However, it was Carol Kirkwood who was first to welcome Sally back on Tuesday morning.
“It’s great to have you back, Sal,” Carol beamed at her co-star.
“Thank you. It’s lovely to be back,” Sally smiled back.
Later on in the show, Jon also told his co-host, “It’s lovely to have you back.”
Sally was clearly happy to be back alongside Jon, saying, “Aw, it’s lovely to be back.”
Fans were also thrilled to see Sally as one person penned on social media: “Sally looks nice and tanned after her holiday #bbcbreakfast.”
Another commented: “@BBCBreakfast Welcome back Sally #BBCBreakfast.” Meanwhile, one added, “It’s great to have Sally back.”
Despite not publicly addressing her absence, Sally has been keeping her followers updated on her antics while she has been away.

At the beginning of the month, Sally shared multiple images from her birthday festivities, which seemed to clarify her absence from screens over the past few weeks.
Sally, who celebrated her 54th birthday, uploaded birthday messages from her friends to her Instagram Stories, alongside a picture of herself marking the occasion.
