Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has revealed her father, Steven, has di3d in an emotional Instagram statement, which explained why she has “been a little quiet.” The actress, best known for her role as Sarah Platt in the long-running ITV soap, also took a moment to thank her loved ones for their support. Against a black background, she penned: “I’ve been a little quiet on here. My dad di3d recently. I haven’t quite known how to put it into words.

Tina added: “My heart is very heavy, but I’m grateful he is no longer suffering. Thank you to everyone who’s held me steady through this difficult time. I love you. You mean the world to me.” The ITV star ended her heartbreaking statement with a rainbow, star, heart and praying hands emoji. The last time Tina had posted on her Instagram page was on November 2, in which she reflected on October and gave fans an insight into the month’s highlights. The photo dump also included a behind-the-scenes photo from Corrie’s advert with Argos, images of her children and a selfie from the Pride of Britain Awards.

Tina’s devastating loss comes just weeks after she went public with her new boyfriend after splitting from her husband of seven years, Adam Crofts.

The actress, 41, was reportedly discovered to have “found love again” with an interior designer named Adam Fadlé, 38, in July. And in September, she confirmed the news by sharing a series of love-up snaps after enjoying a sun-soaked holiday in Greece together.

The estranged couple, who share 10-year-old son Beau, are said to be “on good terms” for the sake of their son; however, they were ultimately driven apart by their differing lifestyles.

At the time, sources close to them claimed: “Tina and Adam have ended their relationship and are spending some time apart. They moved house at Christmas and have decided to live separately for the time being.”

The insiders told The Sun: “Adam and Tina lead very different lives – he is really into his fitness, while she really enjoys going out with her mates and having a dance, which just isn’t for him.

“It wasn’t an issue at first because they were head over heels, but as the kids have started to grow up, it’s become more noticeable. Adam likes a quiet life, and unfortunately, that just isn’t Tina.”

In addition to being a mum to her son, Beau, Tina also has a 16-year-old daughter, Scarlett, whom she shares with her ex-partner and former Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas.
