Jessie J has shared an emotional update following her surgery for cancer.

Earlier this month, singer Jessie J announced she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She revealed she found out about her diagnosis just before she dropped her single, No Secrets, in April – her first release in four years.

Jessie J revealed she would be taking some time away from music to focus on her health and recovery. And last night (June 23), she shared a series of images following breast cancer surgery.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old singer posted multiple photos with trigger warnings, and she didn’t hold back on the honesty.

In the first picture, Jessie could be seen lying on a hospital bed, apparently not long after her surgery took place. Others included marker writing on Jessie’s body, showing where the surgery would be taking place.

In an emotional video as part of the post, the mum-of-one appeared to be just back from surgery and still figuring out what had happened.

She can be heard saying: “I was imagining Sky saying: ‘I love you Mummy.’ And I was saying I love him back. It’s so sore.”

In other videos, Jessie had to give a “blood warning” for as she shared everything with her fans – including how much blood was being drained.

Jessie held the bottle of blood, telling fans they have to “drain” her breasts following the surgery. She included another video of the blood, showing how full it had got since earlier in the day.

The final clip included her son, Sky, holding the bottle of blood, while Jessie J explained to him where it was coming from.

In the caption to the post, Jessie penned: “Blood warning. This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours. I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through.

“Grateful to my doctor / surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me and all my family and friends who came to visit.”

Jessie revealed that she now has to “wait” to learn the results of the surgery, but that she can recover at home now, with her partner, Chanan and their son.

Jessie J continued: “I am home now, to rest and wait for my results. Chanan is in a nurse outfit. No, he isn’t. But it’s funny to imagine. Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!”

Celeb pals and fans were quick to flood Jessie with love and support.
